The UMB Cure Scholars Program is a groundbreaking science pipeline program that prepares sixth to twelve grade students in West Baltimore for competitive, lucrative, and rewarding research and health care careers. Each year the UMB Cure Scholars Program will accept a group of 25-30 sixth graders from three West Baltimore school who have an interest in science and are committed to participation in a long term mentoring program. Each scholar will be supported by a team of five mentors and a life coach as they progress through middle, highs school, and college.
The program will provide:
- Ongoing mentoring and support from middle school through college
- After-school activities and Saturday tutoring
- A six-week Summer Enrichment Program
