Welcome to the Student Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP-SSHP)!

What is ASHP?
American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) is a national organization that represents pharmacists who serve as patient care providers in acute and ambulatory settings. The organization’s nearly 55,000 members include pharmacists, student pharmacists, and pharmacy technicians. It is the only nationally recognized non-governmental, non-profit pharmacy association that has been accrediting pharmacy residency programs.

What about MSHP (State Affiliate)?
The Maryland Society of Health-System Pharmacists (MSHP) is a state affiliate of ASHP, which leads the Maryland health-system pharmacy community in improving patient outcomes by promoting optimal medication use, professional development, and public health in health-systems.

Then, what is SSHP?
We, the Student Society of Health-System Pharmacists (SSHP), are the nationally recognized student chapter. Through SSHP, students have the opportunity to get involved with advocacy in patient care, professional development events, preparing for residency and other post-graduate training, clinical skills competitions, and national meetings.
