Membership in The Rho Chi Society is a privilege accorded to the very few who distinguish themselves by their academic and professional achievements and who aspire to the mission and vision of the Society. Members may be elected as professional or graduate students in Pharmacy, as members of faculties of schools and colleges of pharmacy, as alumni who distinguish themselves in the Profession, or as honorary members by special action of the Society’s Executive Council.


To qualify for invitation,

For students pursuing a Doctor of Pharmacy must:

1. Have completed no less than one-half of the required professional didactic course work as defined for their degree (must currently be a P2 student in the spring semester)

2. Rank in the highest 20 percent of their class using cumulative GPA as determined by the school or college in which they are enrolled

3. Be certified eligible for membership by the dean of the pharmacy school or the dean’s designee

For students pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in Pharmaceutical Health Services Research (PHSR), in Pharmaceutical Sciences (PSC), and in Palliative Care OR students pursuing a Master of Science in Medical Cannabis Science and Therapeutics (MCST), in Palliative Care, in PHSR, in PSC, in Pharmacometrics, and in Regulatory Science must:

1. Have completed half of their curriculum as defined for their degree by the program

2. Rank in the highest 20 percent of their program

3. Have maintained the equivalent of a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale in graduate course work
