Established in 2000, ABAE is a student organization at the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy whose mission is to provide tutoring services for middle and high school students in the Baltimore area. Student volunteers from the Schools of Pharmacy, Dentistry, Law, Medicine, Nursing, Social Work, Graduate Studies at University of Maryland, Baltimore serve as ABAE tutors for grades 6-12. Subjects include Pre-Algebra, Algebra, English/Writing, Geometry, Biology, Chemistry, Pre-Calculus, and Calculus. Tutoring takes place on Saturdays on the UMB campus and is free of charge to participants.

Inclement Weather and Closing Information
In accordance with ABAE’s tutoring policy “if the University or Baltimore County or Baltimore City schools are closed on Friday due to inclement weather, then the Saturday tutoring session will not be held on campus.” Information will be sent if a virtual session will be held.
